Five-time national swim champion will make her first-ever appearance
competing on the world’s biggest stage this summer
EVERETT, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Frontier All-Star Team (FAST) ambassador Ariana Kukors is arriving in
Everett to celebrate her qualifying performance at the U.S. swim trials.
Her sponsor, Frontier Communications, will welcome her at a reception at
the Mill Creek YMCA on July 5, from 4 to 5 p.m., where she will conduct
a meet-and-greet with Y members and the community. All are encouraged to
attend and wish her success in London.
In April, Kukors teamed with Frontier as an ambassador for its FAST
initiative. Through FAST, Frontier is sponsoring Pacific Northwest
athletes throughout their journeys as they prepare to represent our
country before the world this summer in London. In Washington, this
involves community appearances and support of the YMCA of Snohomish
County to bring greater visibility to what the Y does and its positive
effect on the community with programs for youth development, healthy
living and social responsibility. Additional funding for the Y is also
provided through the Great Frontier Donate, a charitable program
designed by Frontier to give back to local communities.
“Frontier is committed to supporting and strengthening the communities
it serves,” Washington State Senior Vice President and General ManagerRich Klena said. “We’re thrilled to partner with our FAST ambassador
Ariana as she heads to London, and we congratulate her on this important
step. We’re grateful to work with her to support the YMCA of Snohomish
County.”
Kukors qualified for the first time at the recent U.S. swim trials in
Omaha, Neb., on June 28, 2012. Kukors missed qualifying in 2008 at the
same venue by just eight-hundredths of a second, so this breakthrough
performance was especially fulfilling.
“My success is not only dependent upon hard work and dedication, but
also upon those people and organizations that have supported me on my
journey,” Kukors said. “Growing up at the Y and learning to swim there
helped shape me into the athlete I am today, and I am so grateful for
the support of this community and of Frontier. I can’t wait to represent
the state of Washington and our country this summer in London.”
