BURNSVILLE, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
“If you fail to plan, plan to fail.” That’s the message behind a free
live webcast on January 12, 2011 sponsored by Frontier Communications
Corporation (NYSE: FTR) that will feature two world-renowned experts on
terrorism, cyber attacks and other business-crippling events. This is
the second disaster planning broadcast hosted by Frontier, following the
highly successful 2008 program that originated in Burnsville and was
broadcast to multi-state locations via videoconferencing. This year’s
“Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail” session will be a webcast to maximize the
number of participants throughout Frontier’s 27-state service area. It
will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. CST. More
information and registration details are available at www.frontier.com/failtoplan.
A replay of the webcast will also be available immediately following the
web event at www.frontier.com/failtoplan.
“Natural and man-made disasters have severe impacts on businesses and
organizations of any size, and planning is the best defense,” said Bill
Fuesz, Regional Director of Commercial Marketing for Frontier. “Fires,
floods, major storms, workplace violence, power outages and real or
threatened attacks harm businesses and individuals. The goal of this
webcast is to inform, prevent and mitigate real and perceived threats.
We will update businesses on current concerns, including the latest on
cyber threats, and help them separate what’s probable from what’s less
likely to occur so that resources can be allocated accordingly.”
The webcast panelists include Michael Hurley, H. Bryan Cunningham and
Lynne Monaco.
Hurley is the president of Team 3i, an international strategy consulting
firm he started following a career that included 25 years as an officer
in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). He also served as a director
and advisor to the White House National Security Council and worked
closely with senior levels of the U.S. Department of Defense, the CIA,
State Department, Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI). Hurley served as senior counsel and director of the
counterterrorism policy investigation for the 9/11 Commission and was
instrumental in the passage of the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism
Prevention Act of 2004. He is an expert in counterterrorism, disaster
prevention and planning and national security.
Cunningham is a principal at Cunningham Partners and an information
security and privacy attorney. He is a former federal prosecutor and CIA
analyst and was a deputy legal adviser to the White House National
Security Council from 2002 -2004. He drafted significant portions of the
National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace, the Homeland Security Act,
executive orders on terrorism and intelligence, and other
terrorism-related policy documents, and was one of the primary attorneys
working with the 9/11 Commission. Cunningham speaks widely on a range of
national and homeland security issues, cyber security and data privacy,
terrorism and electronic surveillance, and legal and regulatory issues
affecting healthcare and finance.
Monaco is Frontier Communications’ Corporate Director of Safety and
Security and oversees a staff of 14 security and safety professionals
and an additional 30 contract security specialists who provide
round-the-clock protection for Frontier’s operations and assets. Monaco
works closely with the Department of Homeland Security and its state and
local counterparts to ensure continued provision of customer services in
the event of a state or national disaster. Monaco also serves on several
governmental security and safety committees.
“These speakers offer extensive expertise and their unique insights will
help any business or organization that’s concerned with continuity
planning in the face of a major disruption. It will also help their
respective customers and members who are impacted as well when disaster
strikes,” Fuesz said. “We encourage business owners, community and civic
leaders and emergency responders to participate in the webcast.”
