Frontier Communications Corporation (NYSE: FTR), the leading provider of
communications services to rural America, recently announced the
appointment of Michael C. Flynn as Senior Vice President and General
Manager for Illinois. Flynn is leading Frontier’s operations throughout
the state, overseeing the aggressive deployment of broadband
communications, and is responsible for every aspect of the customer
experience.

telecommunications overall. He is a proven leader who has demonstrated a
great ability to manage operations, engage employees and enhance
customer, business and community relationships. His track record is
outstanding, and his expertise spans sales and marketing, operations and
support services. He will play a vital role as Frontier grows its newly
acquired markets as well as its existing Frontier properties in

Flynn most recently was Vice President and GM for Frontier’s properties
in Minnesota, Iowa and Nebraska. He previously served as Vice President
-- Field Operations for Frontier’s Great Lakes Region, which at that
time included Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. Flynn joined
Frontier Communications (formerly GTE/Citizens) in Dryden, New York in
1989 as a Central District Telephone Operations Manager.
Prior to Frontier, Flynn ran the state of Indiana for Verizon as
Director of Customer Operations and later as a Regional Operational
leader with additional responsibility in Fort Wayne, Indiana for Sales
and Marketing of FiOS – a full fiber optic network to the home system.
Over the course of his 21-year telecom career, Flynn has held leadership
positions in Frontier and Verizon territories in New York, Washington,
Oregon, Florida, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and now
Illinois.
Flynn earned a B.S. in Applied Science/Engineering from the United
States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. He served in active duty as
an officer in the U.S. Navy from 1980-1989 and later in the Naval
Reserves, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Commander. His service
included missions in the Persian Gulf in 1987.
Flynn recently relocated from Lakeville, Minnesota and now resides with
his family in Bloomington, Illinois.
