Frontier All-Star Team Making a Difference in Oregon

Two-time gold medal fencer Mariel Zagunis partners with Frontier Communications and the Center for Medically Fragile Children at Providence Child Center

BEAVERTON, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Frontier Communications recently announced its official sponsorship of Mariel Zagunis, two-time Olympic champion and world number-one ranked fencer from Beaverton, Ore., as she trains to compete this summer on the world's biggest stage in London, England.

With Zagunis as a Frontier All-Star Team (FAST) ambassador, Frontier will support the Center for Medically Fragile Children at Providence Child Center in Oregon to bring greater visibility to their efforts in providing developmentally disabled children the tools to better interact with others. Speech therapy includes improving children's skills with communications devices designed to give those who cannot speak a voice to share their feelings and needs in their own special way. Funding is available through the Great Frontier Donate, a charitable program designed to give back to local communities.

Zagunis, the most decorated fencer in U.S. history, applauds Frontier's ongoing visible commitment to local communities in Oregon. "I'm proud to be involved with Frontier and to partner with them in their charitable efforts with Providence Child Center," she said. "Both organizations are dedicated to enhancing communications and strengthening communities, and this partnership will help many special needs children improve their ability to communicate and express themselves. I am so grateful that the pursuit of my dreams has provided a platform to help these kids realize their dreams."

"Given the role that Frontier products play in connecting people and our commitment to local communities in Oregon, this partnership with Mariel and Providence Child Center is a great fit," said Oregon Senior Vice President and General Manager Ken Gaffga. "From our 100% U.S.-based workforce to our focused effort in hiring military veterans, both men and women, Frontier is dedicated to building the kind of strong communities that make our nation great."

Gaffga further noted, "We're thrilled that Mariel is headed to London this summer to represent our country. Frontier will join her friends and neighbors here in Oregon, and Americans everywhere, in cheering her on as she goes for her third consecutive gold medal."
